Q1：What is the application channel for foreign professionals engaged in artistic work when they work in Taiwan?
A1：There are two kinds of application channel. The first one is in accordance with the Article 46.1.6 and Article 48 of the Employment Service Act, with employers to apply to the Ministry of Labor for permission to hire foreign professionals engage in artistic work in our country. The other one is for qualified foreign professionals to apply for a work permit to the Ministry of Labor.

| Performing Arts and Visual Arts |
Shall meet one of the following job qualifications:
- Over 10 years of working experiences in the applied art field and with creative and outstanding performance.
- Master degree in domestic or foreign universities, and over 5 years of working experiences in the applied art field, or PhD degree in domestic or foreign universities, and over 3 years of working experiences in the applied art field.
- With creative and outstanding performance in the art field, and with certificates / or recommendations issued by government institutions or stated-owned enterprises.

Over 8 year of working experiences in publishing field, and meet one of the following job qualifications:
- Served as Chief Editor or Senior Manager of a major International news, media outlet, or publishing house.
- Awarded with one’s country’s most prestigious prize for a publishing-related field of literature and comic; or an international prize for same.
- With creative and outstanding performance in the publishing field, and with certificates / or recommendations issued by government institutions or stated-owned enterprises.

| Movie, Broadcasting Television, and Pop Music |
Shall meet one of the following job qualifications:
- Being nominated for a major award in the movie, broadcasting television, or pop music field from the Republic of China, the recipient’s native country, or an international award.
- Served in a position of middle management or above level for an international medium-sized or larger juristic person or institution related to film, broadcasting television, and pop music.
- With creative and outstanding performance in the movie, broadcasting television, or pop music field, and with certificates.
The awards of preceding paragraph 1 shall be indicated by the Ministry of Culture following its announcement. |
| Crafts |
Shall meet one of the following job qualifications:
- Nominated a nationally or internationally recognized competition.
- Taught in department of crafts at a foreign college or university with seniority of associate professor and more.
- With creative and outstanding performance in the craft field, and with certificates / or recommendations issued by government institutions or stated-owned enterprises.

| Subject to special circumstances, the Ministry shall examine and review other individual cases in consultation with the Ministry of Culture. |
Q2：What artistic work are foreign professionals who apply for the artistic work permit to the Ministry of Labor allowed to engage in?
A2：According to Article 3 and the attachment of Article 4 of the “Amendment of Regulations on the Work Permit and Administration of the Foreign Professionals Engaging in Arts and Performing Arts”, the artistic work which foreign professionals are allowed to engage in, include performing arts and visual arts, publishing, movie, broadcasting television, pop music, and crafts, or the work identified by the Ministry of Culture, and should be in line with the provisions of the work experience, professional license or a designated award etc.
Q3：What are the qualifications for foreign professionals applying for engaging in performing arts and visual arts to the Ministry of Labor?
A3：Performing arts and visual arts require one of the following job qualifications:
1. Over 10 years of working experiences in the applied art field with creative and outstanding performance.
2.Master’s degree in domestic or foreign universities, and over 5 years of working experiences in the applied art field, or PhD degree in domestic or foreign universities, and over 3 years of working experiences in the applied art field.
3.Creative and outstanding performance in the art field, and holds certificates / or recommendations issued by government institutions or stated-owned enterprises.
Q4：What are the qualifications for foreign professionals applying for engaging in publishing work to the Ministry of Labor?
A4：Foreign professionals with more than 8 years experience in publishing work and with one of the following job qualifications:
1. Served as Chief Editor or Senior Manager of a major international news, media outlet, or publishing house.
2.Awarded with one’s country’s most prestigious prize for a publishing-related field of literature and comic; or an international prize for same.
3.Creative and outstanding performance in the publishing field, and holds certificates / or recommendations issued by government institutions or stated-owned enterprises.
Q5：What are the qualifications for foreign professionals applying to engage in the fields of film, broadcasting, television and pop music to the Ministry of Labor?
A5：Should qualify with one of the following job qualifications:
1. Films that have been shortlisted in this country, the applicant’s country or internationally, or won important international awards in the fields of film, radio and television, and popular music (should comply with the announcement of the Ministry of Culture).
2.Served as a mid-level manager or above at an international medium-sized or above film, radio and television, or popular music legal entity.
3. Have originality and special performance in the fields of film, radio and television and popular music, and issue relevant certification documents.
Q6：What are the qualifications for foreign professionals applying for engaging in the field of crafts to the Ministry of Labor?
A6：They should qualify with one of the following job qualifications:
1. Nominated in national or internationally recognized competitions.
2.Have taught in department of crafts at a foreign college or university with seniority of associate professor and more.
3.Creative and outstanding performance in the craft field, and certificates / or recommendations issued by government institutions or stated-owned enterprises.
