In order to attract foreign specialist professionals and solve their challenges of applying for work permits, barriers to changing jobs, inability to work part-time, and other issues such as requiring to apply for work permits in paid short-term roles such as consulting, technical guidance, or speaking engagements, Singapore’s PEP program has been referenced. Article 9 of the Act stipulates that “a foreign specialist professional who plans to engage in professional work in the State may apply directly to the NIA for a four-in-one Employment Gold Card that combines work permit, resident visa, Alien Resident Certificate, and re-entry permit.”
The Ministry of the Interior has established The Regulations Governing Employment Gold Card Permit for Foreign Specialist Professionals in accordance with the Act. Please refer to the URL for more information.
For more information related to application fees for the Employment Gold Card, refer to Fee-Charging Standards for Employment Gold Cards, Employment Pass Card and Entrepreneur Visas.
If you intend on applying for an Employment Gold Card, please prepare the relevant documents and apply online at the NIA’s Foreign Professionals Online Application Platform.
