Long- term Care Services

列印圖示
Considering that some foreign professionals and their dependents who work and reside long-term in Taiwan may develop long-term care needs due to aging or disability, yet face difficulties properly accessing relevant domestic resources; and given that foreign professionals are actively recruited by our government and have the potential for long-term development in Taiwan; to ensure both a foreigner-friendly living environment and the effective utilization of domestic social welfare resources, Article 28 of the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals explicitly stipulates that foreign professionals and their dependents, upon obtaining permanent residency and meeting certain residency requirements (10 years of residency), may be eligible for long-term care services on par with ROC nationals. Based on the results of their disability assessments, they may apply for services such as home care, day care centers, and family foster care.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare has established the "Regulations Governing the Application and Payment of Long-Term Care Services for Foreign Professionals and Their Dependents" in accordance with the Act. Please refer to the URL for more information.
