Given that foreign professionals are actively recruited by our government and have the potential for long-term development in Taiwan, and in order to balance a foreigner-friendly living environment with the effective utilization of domestic social welfare resources, Article 29 of the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals explicitly stipulates that foreign professionals and their dependents, upon obtaining permanent residency and meeting certain residency requirements (10 years of residency), may be eligible for certain disability care service items on par with ROC nationals.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare has established the "
Regulations Governing Welfare and Services Needs Assessment for Foreign Professionals and Their Dependents with Disabilities" in accordance with the Act. Please refer to the URL for more information.
