Employment Insurance

In order to guarantee the basic living of foreign professionals, foreign specialist professionals, and foreign senior professionals during periods of unemployment, Article 25 of the Act stipulates that those employed in the State and have obtained permanent residence may be included in employment insurance. Article 25 states “foreign professionals, foreign specialist professionals, and foreign senior professionals who are employed to engage in work in the State and have been approved for permanent residency by the NIA shall, except as otherwise provided in this Act, be subject to the Employment Insurance Act.”
