Employment Promotional Conference for the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals
The Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals has come into force since Feb. 8, 2018. To let the public better understand the contents and relevant operations of this Act and, in turn, enhance the efficacy of foreign talent recruitment, NDC hosted a promotional conference for the Act on Mar. 5. Foreign chambers of commerce in Taiwan, social organizations and business groups were invited to attend the meeting which included a series of presentations on measures of the Act, delivered by the NDC and relevant central competent authorities. Video recordings of this conference have been further made into a promotional video and uploaded to NDC’s official website as well as online video-sharing websites, enabling the public to fully understand the key measures of the Act.
Conference topics include: overall introduction of the Act, the issuance and online application of the Employment Gold Card, qualifications for foreign special professionals, short-term tutorial school teachers & freelance artists, work permits for teachers, the issuance of employment-seeking visas, personal work permits for adult children, tax incentives, the new labor pension system, and other related regulations and application procedures. Q&A discussions between attendees and relevant ministries were also held.
The conference began with opening remarks by NDC Minister Chen Mei-ling and was hosted by NDC Deputy Minister Kao Shien-quey. In addition to Chinese materials of the presentations, English version of the slides and minutes are also provided for foreign professionals.
