Qualification of Foreign Special Professionals Print

Q1: What types of documents are needed to prove that a candidate has held, or currently holds, in Taiwan or another country, a position with a most recent monthly salary of over NTD 160,000?
A1: Documents verifying salary or income tax payment relating to employment at a technology company, public or private university in Taiwan or abroad, or academic research institution in Taiwan or abroad.

Q2: How to prove that a candidate possesses unique talent, or outstanding R&D ability or innovation performances in top-notch basic research or forward-looking technology?
A2: One of the following items must be provided:

1. Domestic or foreign certificate verifying possession of a Ph.D. degree, verification of domestic or foreign work experience in a relevant field for 3 years or more, or documents verifying academic research during the most recent three years.
2. Documents verifying domestic or foreign work experience in a relevant field, technology (such as a domestic or foreign patent certificate, etc.), technology licensing (such as technology licensing contract, etc.), or receipt of awards.

Note:

1. Skills:

(1) Applicants with a background in the field of neutron physics must meet least one of the following requirements:

A. A Ph.D. degree in physics, chemistry, or nuclear engineering with at least 2 years of neutron research experience; participation in neutron scattering or diffraction research, or the Taiwan-Australian neutron instrument (SIKA) project.
B. A Ph.D. in condensed matter physics, with good knowledge of condensed matter physics and inelastic neutron scattering; publication of papers on inelastic neutron scattering or neutron triple axis spectrometry; research employing the ANSTO inelastic spectrometer.

(2) Other fields: Evidence verifying at least three years of professional working experience or the equivalent.

2. Evidence of academic research output must be provided in the form of published scholarly works, such as the following:

(1) Journal articles: Author or co-author of a journal article published in a peer-reviewed scholarly journal. Manuscripts must be accompanied with proof of acceptance by a publisher.
(2) Conference papers: Author or co-author of a paper issued at a conference or accepted by a conference organizer for issuance. Must be accompanied with proof of acceptance.
(3) Books or book chapters: Author or co-author of a book or book chapter that is original or possessing important scholarly value and has been published by a domestic or foreign publisher possessing a review systems (includes in-depth interpretations of classic works; does not include textbooks, cultural works, translated works, or published collections of papers) In the case of works that have been accepted but not yet been published, please attach relevant verifying documents.
(4) Other specialized works: Other specialized works possessing academic value, or software programs or creative tools that are widely cited.

Q3: If a candidate is currently or has previously been a university chair professor, professor, associate professor, or research institution researcher or associate research researcher, has important academic contributions or important professional works, or has earned recognition for published research results during the most recent three years, does this include domestic and foreign universities. What types of documents are needed?
A3:

1. Includes both domestic and foreign universities.
2. Research institute refers to any institute with research as its core mission.
3. It is recommended that at least one of the following supporting documents be provided:

(1) Domestic or foreign certificate verifying possession of a Ph.D. degree, verification of domestic or foreign work experience in a relevant field for 3 years or more, or documents verifying academic research during the most recent three years.
(2) Documents verifying domestic or foreign work experience in a relevant field, technology (such as a domestic or foreign patent certificate, etc.), technology licensing (such as technology licensing contract, etc.), or receipt of awards.

Note:
